Closures and cancellations due to COVID-19 and cancellations due to COVID-19<div>On March 31, 2020, the Premier’s Office announced an extension to the provincial school closure period in response to COVID-19. As such, Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) schools, child care centres and adult learning centres will not reopen on April 6, 2020, as originally scheduled. Welcome Back Back<p>​Welcome back to our returning and new students to Lions Oval.  Students in SK to Grade 8 begin on Tuesday, September 3.  Come and meet us on the Tarmac at 8:50 am.  There you will meet your new teacher and be led to your new classroom at the bell.  If it is raining that morning, please note that we will be meeting in the Gymnasium.<br></p>
Clothing Drive - February 7 Drive - February 7<p>​<br></p><p>We are continuing to collect clothing items for the next 2 weeks.  We would appreciate any new or gently used clothing (shirts, pants, blouses, dresses, etc.), jackets & shoes.  Items can be dropped off at the school.  Please make sure that your donations have been washed and are clean.</p><p>On <strong>Thursday, February 7</strong>, families are welcome to come to the school and shop from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.<br></p><p><br></p>
Junior Kindergarten Start Kindergarten Start<p>​Students registered in Junior Kindergarten have been invited to attend our orientation on Wednesday, September 4 at 3:30 pm to meet the teacher and visit his/her new class.  The first official day of school for our JKs is Thursday, September 5.<br></p>

Kindergarten Registration is Now Open Registration is Now Open<p>​<span style="font-size:11pt;line-height:110%;font-family:calibri, sans-serif;">Beginning Jan. 28, 2019, Simcoe County’s public schools will register children for Kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year. Welcome Back Back<p>​It's great to have all our students back to Lions Oval.  For the first day, please meet on the tarmac to find out about your class placements.  There will be signs that show where each grade is meeting.  Administration and teachers will be there to confirm your class.  Looking forward to seeing everyone after a fanastic summer!<br></p>
‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safely‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safely<p>​</p><p>The Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) launched the Bus Tag<strong> </strong>program this September.<strong> </strong>The Bus Tag program supports safety for JK/SK and other school-identified students by<strong> </strong>providing a process to match students to their assigned afternoon school bus and to also<strong> </strong>identify they must be met by a parent or guardian at their afternoon bus stop.</p><p>The program provides:</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>a colour coded bus tag with the assigned p.m. route number to be attached to the student's backpack</li><li>a colour-coded route card with route number in the windows of the school bus that the Bus Tag is matched to</li></ul><p>The SCSTC and Bus Operators have policies and procedures that are used on all school vehicles to ensure students in JK/SK and other school identified students are met at their afternoon bus stop.  It's the parent/guardian's responsibility to meet Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten and other identified students at the bus stop .The Bus Tag program has been established to assist both the schools and school bus drivers to load these students on the correct afternoon bus and identify they are to be met at their bus stop by a parent/guardian. Pay for field trips, lunch days, etc. with SchoolCash Online for field trips, lunch days, etc. with SchoolCash Online<p>​</p><p>The SchoolCash Online program is now available at all schools, offering parents the option to pay online for field trips, lunch days and other items. The program is intended to reduce paper, eliminate the need for students to travel with money, and for money to be counted and stored at schools.<strong>  </strong>Payment by credit card has now also been added. </p><p>Parents who sign up will receive a notification when a new item becomes available for purchase. Items are personalized to each student.  Parents will use a secure online account to process payments, and can either make a one-time payment for each item as it occurs, or load money to carry a balance in the online account to make payments in the future. </p><p>To create an online account, go to <a href="" target="_blank"><span lang="EN-CA" style="text-decoration:underline;"></span></a>.
